Tafara brother killer in court

magistrate Ms Anita Tshuma, who remanded him in custody to April 20.
The magistrate advised him to apply for bail at the High Court due to the gravity of the offence.
Mr Tinofara Hove of TK Hove and partners is representing him.
Appearing for the State, prosecutor Mr Tapiwa Kasema alleges that on March 31 at around 5pm, Tichafunga went to Tendai’s house and parked his kombi. When Tendai returned home around 7pm he could not park his vehicle since the kombi was blocking his way.
This angered Tendai who then inquired from his wife about the whereabouts of Tichafunga, it is alleged.
Tendai, the court heard, jumped into his vehicle and went to Tichafunga’s house and ordered him to accompany him back to his house, and he complied. Upon arrival at Tendai’s house, the two started quarrelling and a fist fight ensued. Tendai used some water glasses to assault his brother.
It is alleged  the now deceased  picked a pot with boiling water from the fireplace and tried to pour it on his  brother before he was restrained by Tendai’s wife, son and a neighbour, who then took him outside the yard.
The State alleges that as Tichafunga was walking back to his house, Tendai rushed to his vehicle and grabbed a pistol and followed him.
Tendai, the State says, shot Tichafunga in the chest. Upon seeing that he had shot his brother, Tendai sought assistance from neighbours, Walter and Anderson Mukumba, who helped him carry Tichafunga back to his house.
After realising the seriousness of Tichafunga’s condition, the neighbours rushed him to Parirenyatwa hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
A police report was made leading to Tendai’s arrest.
