PRINCE Tafiremutsa is perhaps the foundation upon which Dynamos’ Premier Soccer League relegation fight has been built on.

As the club fight their way back from the abyss, this has been the worst kept secret – Tafiremutsa making the difference.

The Glamour Boys, once entangled in an endless poor run that cost two coaches, Lloyd ‘Mablanyo’ Chigowe and Saul Chaminuka, their jobs, are making a stunning resurgence.

Under the instrumental guidance of Kelvin Kaindu, Dynamos have snatched 13 points from a possible 15, their best run of the season.

This was after months of languishing on 17th position, but now 16th and three points from safety line.

Central to this revival has been Tafiremutsa. More than just a cog in the defensive structure, he has not just been the foundation, but l has stood as a wall.

Having solidified their survival chances, Tafiremutsa and Dynamos now shift their formidable focus to the Chibuku Super Cup match against ZPC Kariba on Saturday.

“We have already shifted focus from our league matches to the Chibuku Super Cup clash.

“I have been enjoying my game and given a chance to play on Saturday I would want to keep another clean sheet and help the team book a ticket in the semi finals.

“We are the team to beat in the Chibuku Super Cup, and we want to maintain that. But ZPC Kariba can be a nuisance for any other team.

“I am confident we will put a good show… They have been dangerous with setpieces but we are up for the challenge,” he said.

Tafiremutsa is keen on improving until he reaches the top.

“The good performance cannot be solely pointed at me alone but the whole team that has helped us to defend as a unit.

“I have 10 clean sheets in the league and one in the Chibuku Super Cup, I am eager to continue improving on that trajectory.”
