Dr Stamps said that with the advent of computers, people living with disabilities could now work in white collar professions.
He said the burden was now upon captains of industry to cast the net wider when employing and that included seeing beyond the first impression when disabled people come for interviews.
Dr Stamps said the situation of people living with disabilities was further exacerbated by the fact that in most sectors of society, they were not accommodated, although he said some change was now being witnessed in that regard.
“Our minds, living rooms, offices and other public places must be able to cater for all our societal needs regardless of physical capabilities,” he said.
