Takealot refunds customers

Takealot has lost R4 million but has made 346 people very very happy after the Springboks walked away as champions of the Rugby World Cup.
This is thanks to a promotion the online retailer ran where it promised a full refund to customers who bought selected Samsung TVs valued at a combined total of R4 million should the Boks win.
The promotion originally ran from September 6, 14 days before the Rugby World Cup started, and closed the day before the World Cup kicked off on September 19. This was later reopened following the Springboks victory over Japan in the semi-finals.
“346 shoppers will be refunded the full value of their purchases if, and when, the Bokke win the tournament,” said Julie-Anne Walsh, Chief Marketing Officer at Takealot.com.
The promotion applied to the following models: Samsung 49-inch Curved UHD TV (sold at R7 499), Samsung 50-inch UHD TV (R8 199), and Samsung 55-inch QLED TV (R14 999). — Businessinsider.
