ZIFA Southern League Division One title aspirants Talen Vision will extend the contract of their Slovakian director of coaching Miroslav Nemec by four years.
Talen Vision president, Khumbulani Nkomo said the club has decided to extend Nemec’s contract, which was due to end this season as part of the club’s strategic plan to develop and nurture young talent with an ability to break into major international leagues.
Nemec joined the ambitious First Division side from a coaching stint with Czech Republic second tier league side Frydek-Mistek in 2017 as head coach and was later reassigned last year as director of coaching tasked with overseeing the entire club’s mentorship department from the developmental side.
“Miro’s contract is ending this season but as a club we have decided to extend it for another four years as we intend to make use of his experience to impart the European football flair to our juniors and development sides. As management we are very satisfied with his performance to date thus the reason we have decide to extend his contract,” he said.
Nkomo said Nemec fits well into Talen Vision’s vision of developing young talent into future stars.
“We have a very good junior structure, which we believe will play a big part in developing soccer in the country and through our European links we are positive we will have many young talents breaking into major leagues there and going on to represent the country,” he said.
Talen Vision has Under-13, 15 and 17 sides as well as a developmental side in Division Three, which comprises mostly of players under the age of 18.
“We are very excited with the way our developmental side the Division Three is playing, only last week the side defeated a top D2 side in a cup competition. The team is also poised for qualifying into D2 and as a way of ensuring that the boys gain experience we are likely to have them in that league if they qualify,” said Nkomo.
The Division Three side is coached by former Hwange, Zimbabwe Saints and FC Platinum midfielder Ntokozo Tshuma with the team fourth on the log at the moment with two teams getting promoted into D2 at the end of the season.
“The founding ethos of the club is premised on nurturing talent and as such we will continuously infuse our talented juniors into the first team to replace old players. We will however, not discard all the players that will have reached their twilight zones especially those loyal ones. We will find them different roles within the team,” said Nkomo.
Talen Vision is one of the few second tier teams in the country, which has made significant strides in adhering to Fifa’s club licensing requirements.
