A FRENCH football agent, Didier Kanku, who enjoys a good working relationship with Zifa Southern Region Division One club Talen Vision, has revealed three coaches from Slovakia are set to come and scout for talent at the inaugural Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Top Eight tournament.
The knockout tournament, which will feature,A� Bulawayo Chiefs, Talen Vision, ZPC Hwange, ZRP Bulawayo, Indlovu Iyanyathela, Amagagasi and Black Boots,A� is being bankrolled by Trukumb Private Limited and Partners to the tune of $10 000.
It will run from 3 to 10 December and its draw will be held on Friday at Bulawayoa��s Zifa offices.
a�?Three coaches from Slovakia will come to Bulawayo to scout for talent at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo tournament.
I believe Zimbabwe has so many talented players who can impress,a�? said Kanku who recently recommended Slovakian gaffer Julius Simon to Talen Vision.
Simon heads the cluba��s technical department that also has Andrew Musumhere and Ndumisani Ncube as their assistant and goalkeepers coaches respectively.
Winners of the tournament will get $2 400, with the losing finalists pocketing $1 500. Losing semi-finalists are set to walk away with $700 each. Teams knocked out in the first round will get $300 each. The rest of the package will be used to pay match officials and hire stadia.
Trukumba��s representative Sabelo Mpofu said they were looking forward to making the tournament an annual event.
The launch function of the competition was graced by Zifa vice president Omega Sibanda, Zifa Southern Region chairman Musa Mandaza, Zifa Northern Region chairman Dennis Tshuma, Southern Region Division One clubs representatives and Highlanders chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede among others.
