Tarumbwa out of Bulawayo derby

BANTU Rovers FC have been dealt a blow as they will be without star striker Obadiah Tarumbwa  when they meet Highlanders in a city derby at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.Tarumbwa has accumulated three yellow cards and appears in a list sent to the media and clubs of players who will miss the weekend fixtures.

The forward who has played in Belgium, Cyprus, Kenya and South Africa is among the key players expected to help Rovers survive relegation. Methembe Ndlovu’s team has a number of young players who are still learning the ropes of professional football and were on a learning curve during the first round of the Castle Lager race. Tarumbwa, a former Highlanders star, was cautioned in the match against Caps United played on May 25. He received his second yellow card in the home tie against ZPC Kariba before collecting his third against Highlanders on July 13.

FC Platinum will miss the services of James Marufu, Caps United will be without Steven Makatuka while Black Rhinos will be without the services of ageless Phillip Marufu.

Struggling Chiredzi’s Gift Kwaramba has also collected three yellow cards.
