Taruvinga, who started singing at a tender age, said music was an inborn talent to him.
“I started singing at a tender age when I was still attending Sunday school and my pastor and family encouraged me to take singing seriously,” said Taruvinga.
The album was recorded at Monolio Studios, which is owned by one of Zimbabwe’s best producers, Clive Mono Mukundu.
Taruvinga, who was in the company of his manager, Brian Chitekwe, was upbeat that his album would make an impact on the music scene.
“My album is ‘a balanced diet’ as it encompasses various types of genres including sungura, reggae and traditional beats.
“My aim is to spread the gospel to a lot of people with different tastes,” said Taruvinga.
His manager, who is also a singer in his own right, said that they were going to market the album through live shows as well as performing at private functions.
“As a way of marketing the album, we are going to embark on a countrywide tour to stage live shows and as a special treat to our fans. We are also going to release three videos of the songs on the album,” said Chitekwe.
Superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, inspires Taruvinga.
Taruvinga was born at St Paul’s Musami in Murehwa, where he also attended his primary education at Murehwa Central Primary.
He then proceeded to Murehwa High School where he did his O- and A-Levels.
After completing A-Level, Taruvinga then enrolled at University of Zimbabwe, where he studied for a degree in sociology and he is employed as a social worker at the District Social Welfare office of Murehwa.
Taruvinga urged all disabled people not to rely on donations but use their various talents to eke out a living.
“I would like to urge all my disabled friends that the sky is the limit even for a disabled person as the world is full of opportunities which are waiting to be grabbed,” said Taruvinga.
