Bulawayo Golf Club, located in the heart of Zimbabwe’s second-largest city, boasts a challenging 18-hole layout that promises to test the skills of Africa’s finest amateur golfers.
Chikwanha added: “We have worked tirelessly to ensure the course is in top condition. We are confident that our hospitality and facilities will make this a memorable experience for all participants.”
Golf enthusiasts can expect an intense competition among the 15 participating nations. The All Africa Golf Team Championship is a premier event in African golf, showcasing the continent’s rising stars.
By hosting this prestigious event, Zimbabwe reinforces its position as a hub for golf in Africa, providing a platform for local golfers to compete against the best from the continent.
The Deputy Tourism Minister, Hon Tongai Mnangagwa, said he was excited at the prospect of Africa’s best amateur golfers competing at the country’s oldest golf club.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the country to showcase not just its golfing talent but the quality golf courses available. This is an opportunity for the nation to make a statement as a go to destination for Sports Tourism. Sports Tourism is growing as a sub-sector in Tourism and events like this one are exactly what we need to make a global shout about our readiness to host regional and global sporting events,” Dep Minister Mnangagwa said.
