Technosphere in goals galore

Sports Reporter
Championship favourites Technosphere were the biggest scorers in the Zifa Southern Region Division One Soccer League, hitting half a dozen goals past Mpumalanga in a Hwange derby. The victory saw Technosphere taking their points tally to 36, two behind leaders Black Boots who collected maximum points against struggling New West who they beat 3-0. The Hwange outfit has been consistent performers this season, keeping up with the title chasing pack and are tied on points with third placed Ntabazinduna but have a superior goal difference.

Black Boots striker Simon Njeleza who scored one of his team’s goals on Saturday thanked his teammates for helping him find his form but said they are not thinking about the championship at all.

“It’s early days to talk about the championship and the coach always encourages us to take each game as it comes. We are not worried about how other teams play, we just have to continue working hard and see where we are at the end of the season.

“As for my stay here, I have been enjoying my game and have forgotten about the injuries that almost dented my career when I was at FC Platinum. My teammates have been supportive and without them, I wouldn’t be scoring these important goals,” said Njeleza.

Besides Technosphere and Ntabazinduna, Tsholotsho FC and Plumtree Chiefs are also within reach of the title.
Tsholotsho FC and Plumtree Chiefs won their weekend matches against Trumus and Old Nic Mine by an identical 1-0 scoreline.

The Zhwane Boys are three points behind Black Boots with Plumtree Chiefs sitting on position five with 33 points from 18 matches.
