NEWLY-CROWNED Mr Teen Zimbabwe 2024, Ngoni Sanchez Mpofu, is dreaming BIG.
The 19-year-old from Kambuzuma was crowned Mr Teen Zimbabwe last month.
Whatmos Manamike was crowned Mr Zimbabwe.
In an interview with H-Metro, Mpofu said his dream was to be the next Mr Zimbabwe.
“I aspire to be crowned Mr Zimbabwe within the next two to three years, believing that this timeframe will allow me to grow further.
“I have been modeling for three years and, with all this expertise, I know I am the right candidate to be the next Mr. Zimbabwe.
“I am grateful because, out of the ten contestants, I managed to pass all the stages and become a winner.”
Mpofu emerged victorious after a rigorous question-and-answer session that determined the top three finalists who included first runner-up Nigel Table and second runner-up Tadiwa Gwabi.
“The competition was quite intense but thanks to Mr Ishmael Murangandi, the director of both the Mr Teen Zimbabwe and Mr Zimbabwe competitions,” said Mpofu.
Mpofu is also an actor and TV presenter and he plans to launch his own talk show on YouTube.
“It is difficult being a male model, in everything you do, you have to put your best foot forward and work twice as hard compared to your female counterparts.
“Being a model, as a guy, it is not considered a job and for you to get deals and endorsements, you have to work extra hard because people will not take you seriously,” said Mpofu.
Mpofu is applying to a film school overseas to enhance his skills.
