An eight-year-old girl of Belapezi farm in Epworth, Harare was raped by a teenage boy aged 14.
The complainant and the accused are neighbours.
On the 10 April 2023 the boy went to the complainant’s house and found the girl watching television and he joined her.
He later asked the girl to accompany him to Brighton Junior College in Belapezi Farm and she agreed.
Upon arrival at the school, they got in a classroom and the boy raped the girl once.
After she was raped, she went to the boy’s residence and reported to his mother who in turn reported to the girl’s aunt what had happened.
The two adults accompanied the girl to Epworth police station where she made a report.
The accused person is still in the custody of his mother and investigations are still in progress.
