Teenager dies after stabbing mother to death

A 19-year-old man stabbed his mother to death with a kitchen knife yesterday at section 7 Trojan Compound in Bindura.

Provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the gruesome murder of Dorcas Chigudhu (55) at around 2pm.

The suspect, Regis Ruza, was taken to Bindura Hospital where he was treated for wounds he sustained during the murder and discharged into police custody. On the same day at around 8pm, Ruza lost consciousness and was referred back to Bindura hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police suspect that Ruza was under the influence of drugs.
