A total of 156 Samsung Galaxy Y PRO cellphones were given away as daily prizes in the promotion, which began in August and ran for 90 days. The weekly prizes were a Samsung Galaxy S2 and HP 630 laptop. Winners of the daily and weekly prizes where announced during the course of the promotion.
Telecel also included surprise prizes of Samsung LCD televisions, digital cameras and home theatre systems, which participants were not aware of, to show its appreciation to all the subscribers who entered the promotion.
Among the surprise prize winners were Mr Patrick Sumani, who won an LCD television and DVD player, Mr Arthur Evans, who won a home theatre system, and Mr Clever Mukarati, who won a digital camera.
Mrs Nomsa Mangena from Hatfield, who received one of the weekly prizes of an HP 630 laptop, could not hide her excitement when her name was called again as the winner of a digital camera surprise prize.
The Mega Promo promotion was one of a series of promotions Telecel has been running recently.
Participation in the Mega Promo promotion was by invitation from Telecel. Once subscribers accepted the invitation, they started receiving a series of questions from Telecel to respond to.
