A 45-YEAR-OLD Bulawayo man turned his home into a warzone after accusing his wife of cheating — pulling a gun on her and demanding she confess to an affair that only existed in his twisted mind!
The terrifying ordeal played out on 31 March 2025 when Brian Lungu stormed into his Cowdray Park house, dragged his 41-year-old wife into the bedroom, and held an Okapi knife to her throat, screaming: “Who’s your boyfriend?!”
Bulawayo police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said when his wife denied any infidelity, the enraged husband forced her to invent a fake name — then called her bluff. In a bone-chilling escalation, he whipped out a loaded pistol, pointed it at her, and growled: “Tell me the truth . . . or else!”
The petrified woman screamed for mercy, alerting their children, who raced to Cowdray Park Police Station to report the horror.
Cops swooped in, arresting Lungu and seizing: a loaded pistol (with 6 rounds), a black Okapi knife and an expired firearm licence (meant for cash-in-transit security.)
Asst Insp Msebele warned that guns are NOT for terrorising families!
“As the police we urge members of the public who are in lawful possession of firearms to adhere to the conditions of the firearms Act and to desist from threatening vulnerable people especially women. Also to ensure that those firearms are kept at proper gun cabinets under lock and key,” she said.
