TELONE coach Herbert Maruwa is relishing their showdown against high-flying Simba Bhora at Ascot this afternoon.
He says his men want to halt their opponents’ 10-game unbeaten run.
Simba Bhora’s last defeat was at the hands of Scottland.
The champions won the reverse fixture 1-0 in Shamva.
“We’re ready for the defending champions and league leaders,” Maruwa said.
“We respect their form but we’re focused on our own mission, which is to collect maximum points. Every win keeps us in contention.”
Despite missing key players due to suspensions, Maruwa remains defiant,
“It’s a blow but it’s also an opportunity for others to step up. We’re here to fight.
“We will also be banking on home advantage.”
Simba Bhora coach, Joel Luphahla, admitted they were under pressure to keep their momentum.
“The pressure is there but I’m one calm coach so I think most of the time, what you see from the players, they take it from me.
“I try by all means to make sure we talk about that pressure but we don’t show it out there because if we do, we are going to break. We go to TelOne and compete and make sure that we get the required result that we need.
“We need to go there and remember who we are, we are the defending champions.”
