Temvious elected Shabanie supporters’ boss

Because, as the election of Mike Temvious, to head the supporters’ branch of Shabanie Mine FC shows, there are some white guys who really care for the game.
Affectionately known as Acropol, Temvious is a businessman in this mining town and will now head the Shabanie Mine supporters’ branch.
Temvious won the election unopposed to become the first white person to lead a supporters’ club in the country in the era of the modern Premiership.
Yesterday, he spoke to The Herald about his new role.
“We are very happy with the success of FC Platinum and I urge the fans to rally behind both teams who represent us in the Premier League,” said Temvious.
“We need FC Platinum to fly the Zvishavane flag high and we hope they will go far.
“We also need them to rally behind us when the season starts in a few weeks.
“I am very happy with my nomination to the position of chairman.
“Shabanie is going to come out with all guns blazing.”
He said Shabanie could actually win the league championship this season and play in the Champions League next year.
The asbestos miners survived relegation on the final day of the season last year after beating Highlanders.
“We had no regalia last season and this season regalia will be available from the smallest kid to the oldest person,” said Temvious. “We are also going to be the first Zimbabwean club kuunza maZambia kubhora zvinove zvisati zvamboitika.”
The elections, which were held in a very peaceful environment with hundreds of fans casting their votes over the weekend, saw Shepard Makazhu retaining his post as vice-chairperson.
Perseverence Mashiri is the new treasurer, Ruwizhi Shoko (secretary) and former Shabanie Mine defender, Stehen “Solar” Mbewe, Jelous Phiri, Noah Chipumu,Elizabeth Muchena, Terrence Mbudaya and Bvunzai Makazhu are the committee members.
The committee members will each represent the following suburbs — Maglas, Mandava, Kandodo, Nil, Birthday and Advarolem.
