Tenacity is a key attribute in life

BITTER or better, let the choice be yours.

In life, pain is inevitable in one way or the other but what you become after experiencing pain should be your choice.

Pain and challenges should make you a stronger person than you were before.

I believe almost every mother agrees that the process of giving birth is not easy.

Going into labour can be a nightmare.

Some women become sick throughout the nine months before giving birth.

However, it is the same painful process that in most cases gives mothers such a strong bond with their children. It’s like the more a mother suffers to bear and raise a child is the more they become inseparable with the child.

Choose victory

Allow challenges to mould you into something better. Life is full of challenges that come to either make us or break us. What you become depends on how you react to situations around you. The language you speak can either increase your energy and positivity or it can drain your energy and affect your ability to tackle challenges that come your way.

For instance, if you always find yourself making negative declarations like zvakaoma (it is hard), it then becomes very difficult to come up with solutions.

On the other hand, if you probably constantly make declarations like zvinoita (it is possible), then you open up your mind to thinking outside the box and to come up with solutions.

The Bible says in the book of 1 Corinthians 10 verse 13: “No temptation has overtaken you except what is known to humankind. And God is faithful, He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.”

You may be knocked down but refuse to be knocked out. Always try to get back up, focus and keep moving. Life is like a test where you need to make corrections if you fail so that you can easily proceed.

We all carry a certain degree of resilience within us; all we need in most cases is to put it into practice.

Come to think of it, if you managed to endure nine months in water and darkness before coming to this earth, you surely acquired lifetime skills that you need to unleash to become what you have been called to be.

Organisational Status

Most organisations are filled with a good number of people who run away if they encounter challenges. In my HR industry, I have come across people who hop from job to job looking for greener pastures, and some of them fail to find what they are looking for.

I have also come across those who decided to stick with what they believe in and what they are passionate about even when the conditions are less than what they expect. Tenacity is one of the key attributes we all need in life.

A good number of organisations that collapsed were simply a result of a team that gave up too quickly, yet the potential to do well was there.

It is important to understand that it takes a whole team to make an organisation stand; it is not about management only.

The challenge within many organisations is that some teams have a victim mentality.  For instance, if salaries are not enough, instead of working even harder to generate more business, many tend to blame management.

In some cases, a business could have been negatively affected by factors such as inflation. In life, do not stop living your best life in the endless pursuit for more money. Enjoy life while you can with what you have.

My experience

Early in my marriage, my husband and I were struggling to make ends meet.

On the other hand, we wanted to have all sorts of fun just like other newly married couples. One of the things we resolved to do was enjoy life the best way we could.

We then started to visit different places for picnics, fun and adventure whenever we could.  A few years later, God blessed us with a daughter and our priorities changed.

On the other hand, the places we used to visit freely were now reserved and one would pay to access them.

We delighted in knowing that we had maximised the opportunity when it was still freely available. Generally, life is like that. Pressing matters will always be there and money will never be enough, hence it is better to choose to be a victor than a victim. Be challenged to exercise the resilience within you. Be encouraged to keep on pressing towards the goal till you achieve it. Be inspired to enjoy life the best way you can with what you. Life is too short to play victim.
