A TENANT threatened to kill his fellow tenant and ended up being dragged to court.
Makiwa Takwana, 23, appeared before Mbare magistrate, Jacqueline Gara yesterday, for issuing threats to kill his co-tenant, Makirina Mugugu
He was remanded in custody to today for his bail application.
Takwana lives at the same house with Mugugu in Southlea Park.
Allegations are that on Monday, at around 10pm, Takwana returned home from a beer drink, with an empty beer bottle, and broke it on the floor.
The State said he took a piece of the broken bottle and threatened to kill Mugugu.
It was said he also grabbed a knife and threatened to stab and kill her, and referred to himself as a murderer.
A frightened Mugugu went on to report the threats to the police.
However, Takwana denied the allegations.
“I was drunk and she asked me if we could discuss some issues.
“I told her to wait for the following day since I was drunk.
“I did not insult her or threaten to kill her,” said Takwana.
He was once convicted of the attempted murder of one George Bumhira.
Kate Kamanda appeared for the State.
