FORMER Warriors striker Tendai Ndoro, who was confirmed dead in South Africa yesterday, is believed to have collapsed at home.
He was 40.
Zimbabwe legends and former players living in South Africa had last night started gathering at his apartment in Sandton, Johannesburg, where the former player was found dead.
The actual details surrounding the 40-year-old’s death were yet to be confirmed by the police, and his body still remained in the room hours after the suspected collapse.
Zimpapers Sports Hub can reveal that former CAPS United star Edelbert Dinha was on the ground along with Zororo-Phumulani representatives, while former Warriors captain Peter Ndlovu was expected at the scene late last night.
“Members of Ndoro’s family are trickling in but everyone remains downstairs as the police are yet to arrive,” a source at the scene said.
Ndoro played for local side Chicken Inn, where he was top scorer at one point, before he left for South Africa.
In South Africa, he reached the skies while playing for giants Orlando Pirates.
During those years, he was a reliable striker for the Warriors, where he played along with Cuthbert Maljila and Nyasha Mushekwi as strikers.
“I still cannot believe it. We are still trying to find more details about his death,” a close friend of his based in Harare said last night.
