NILTON Terroso has only faced Dynamos once in his tenure as Bulawayo Chiefs coach and the game is probably his worst since he landed in Zimbabwe.
The last time the two sides met at Barbourfields Stadium, Terroso watched in disbelief the dirty side of Zimbabwean football.
They lost the game 0-2. His side missed a penalty after Dynamos had forced a 15-minute stoppage that puzzled Terroso.
Referee Hardley Ndazi, had awarded Chiefs a penalty in the 62nd minute of the game for a handling offence.
The visitors’ players and officials protested against the referee’s decision leading to a 15-minute stoppage that Dynamos used to their advantage.
The long break and throwing of missiles by fans was something Terroso had never witnessed in his career. But Dynamos knew exactly what they were doing. It was a psychological battle in which Dynamos came out tops.
All that is in the past now and Terroso has all his focus on getting three points on the road.
Dynamos host Bulawayo Chiefs at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday. Chiefs go into Sunday’s game fresh from an impressive 2-0 win over Tenax SC. Dynamos will also be full of confidence going into the encounter after beating Chicken 0-3 in their previous encounter.
The victory over Chicken Inn came on the back of a winless run that had stretched to four games. In that period Dynamos failed to score a single goal.
“I don’t read much into previous games going into the new one. The points at Tenax for us are very positive because we did what we have been talking about in the last weeks which is tying down the points.
“Of course it’s positive for us that we won as much as it is positive for Dynamos that they won as well.
“I think it’s two teams that will want to win. Dynamos are a very difficult team. They are a big club that is in the title race.
“They have their objectives and l am sure they will play for that. We have our objectives as well but l am sure we will do everything we can to compete,” said Terroso.
DeMbare have a number of injury concerns leading to the game, Emmanuel Jalai, Brendon Mpofu, Shadreck Nyahwa, Ralph Kawondera and King Nadolo are all out injured. — @innocentskizoe
