Tevedzai returns from UK tour

Thembalani and gospel hip-hop rapper Mudiwa Mutandwa, staged three concerts.
The shows, which were aimed at raising funds for the needy, saw the trio performing at the Grange Hotel, Milton Keynes before rounding off in Manchester.

In an interview, Tevedzai said he was touched by the crowds that turned up for the shows.
“Performing for the first time in UK was a major breakthrough and dream come true for me since I ventured into gospel music. I was humbled by the support that we received from the fans away from home,” said Tevedzai.

The trio shared stage with fellow Zimbabwean artistes who are now based in UK who include Obert Mazivisa, Khaman Crew and Emily Changa.

“It has been an amazing experience sharing the stage with such renowned artistes. I was surprised to see so many people coming to the show especially the one we had in Leicester, it was massive and people were blessed, he said.

Tevedzai said he learnt a lot from the tour. In August the 25-year-old Tevedzai was in South Africa for a two-week tour that saw him performing at Brakpan, Pretoria.

The UK is proving to be a fertile hunting ground for local musicians because of the number of Zimbabweans based there.

Born on March 14 1987, in Chiredzi, Tevedzai has two polished albums under his belt with his debut being the 2011 production titled “Ndipeyi Meso” and “Munoshamisa” that was released early this year. Tevedzai has featured and shared the stage with several local and regional artistes.
