Tevez to stay: Mancini

Both strikers are being lined up with moves to Italy with Tevez heavily pursued by AC Milan and Dzeko a target for Serie A champions Juventus.
But Mancini, who recently signed a new five-year deal as City boss, is confident he can keep hold of the pair even though he knows it will be difficult.
“Both Dzeko and Tevez will stay at City,” said Mancini.

“We are a great team and we try to keep all our great players — it won’t be easy but they will stay here.” But that could all change if City, who have been quiet so far in the transfer window, were to land some big names this summer especially Robin van Persie.

That will see Tevez and Dzeko pushed further down the pecking order under Mancini but the Italian admitted they do need to add to their squad.
“We still lack a couple of players to reach (the level of) Real Madrid and Barcelona. “Also our mentality has to grow season by season.” Meanwhile, Robin van Persie returned to Arsenal yesterday following his summer break and Sky Sports understands he will hold talks with the club.

However, there is no indication that Van Persie’s stance over a new contract has changed, as he awaits further developments on his future. — Metro.
