BULAWAYO Chiefs attacking midfielder Thabani Moyo, who suffered fractured ribs among other injuries after their team bus was involved in a horrific accident in mid May, will be fit to play in a monthas time.
Moyo has been undergoing treatment together with fellow seasoned player Qinani a?Chromaa? Sibanda who sustained a shoulder injury after the accident that saw their bus overturn at a blind spot along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls road. They were on their way to fulfill a Southern Region Division One match in Hwange.
a?I went for a check-up on Tuesday and the doctors recommended that I should continue doing light training for another month. Initially I had a two months total rest,aa said Moyo, a former Zimbabwe youth international who once had playing stints in Cyprus.
Moyo said while the injury robbed him of a fine run, he needed to take heed of what the doctors recommended.
a?They (doctors) said making contact with other players at full training will aggravate the injuries. I think taking heed of their advice will help me a lot. I will continue doing my workouts at the gym,a? the soft spoken player said.
In his last match in Chiefs colours, Moyo grabbed a brace against his other former paymasters Black Boots.
Thabani is an elder brother to the in-form Moyo twins, Elvis and Kevin, who are in the books of Premier Soccer League log leaders FC Platinum.
Meanwhile, Bulawayo Chiefs are now under the guidance of Thulani a?Thuthsa? Sibanda who recently rejoined the club after an unfruitful romance with Castle Lager Premier Soccer champions Chicken Inn as assistant coach to Rahman Gumbo.
Chiefs sit on position three on the log standings with 31 points, six behind log leaders Bantu Rovers.
When Sibanda, who takes over from Anzilom Ndlovu, left Chiefs in May they were second on the table with 13 points from five games, two adrift from then leaders Amagagasi of Victoria Falls.
