ANOTHER Billie Jean movement and this time itas for Extra Basso!
a?Alick Macheso is my father and I wish to emulate him through the release of my first album entitled Kuteera matsimba ababa (following daddyas footsteps),a? said one Paul Macheso.
The unheralded artiste made serious claims that his father is Alick Macheso together with his twin sister Charity.
The claim, if true, would make Baba Shero a father of seven.
a?We are seven in our family, Sheron, Monalisa, Stacy, Shingi, Charity, Macdonald, Rutendo and of course myself,a? said Paul who somewhat resembles the sungura ace.
Paul asserts that their mother, Patience Ndlovu died in 1999 and they began staying with their aunt Pauline.
a?Because our aunt could not take care of us, we were then taken to Dominican Sisters Convent orphanage in Silobela where we then grew up,a? he alleges.
Paul said the two siblings got to know their father in 2011 after Alick was approached by their motheras relatives.
a?After meeting him in 2011, he vowed to take care of us and gave us a Nissan Caravan which I am currently using to ply the Gokwe-Kwekwe route to make ends meet,a? he further said.
His twin, Charity, is a teacher at a primary school while he resides in Sesame 1 Gokwe.
Charity declined to give any insight.
a?I donat discuss my private life with the media,a? she saidA before hanging up.
Paul said his father encouraged him to take up music as a career hence the decision to come up with his debut album.
a?I am currently working with Peter Moyo and Tryson Chimbetu on my debut offering entitled Kutevera matsimba ababa (following fatheras footsteps).a?
Neither Peter nor Tryson could be reached to confirm the development as their mobile phones went unanswered.
Paul, however, said the six-track album was being finalised by Metro Studios and due for release in October.
Alick Macheso, however, scoffed at the claims.
a?I donat know of anyone like that and all my children are here with me. I stay with them,a? he said.
