DYNAMOS forward, Bill Antonio, said God never disappoints after securing a move to Belgian top-flight league club, KV Mechelen, on a long-term deal.
Antonio had to wait for about three weeks for the move to materialise, with just three days left, before the closure of the Belgian transfer window.
The 20-year-old confirmed his move after the Glamour Boys’ training session at Prince Edward School yesterday.
Antonio attended the session just to bid farewell to his teammates and technical staff.
He is due to depart for Belgium today.
Antonio hailed the “Seven Million” fans for making him a better player by their high demands.
“Thank you Dynamos family for your support.
“They stood by me during my ups and downs, especially in the Covid-19 period,” said Antonio.
“Representing the Blue army is something every youngster wishes and, for me to play for DeMbare, is something which was beyond my imagination, but God made it possible.
“I’m now heading for a new chapter, and I hope to carry on with what I have been doing.”
Ironically, the last time coach Tonderai Ndiraya exported a player to a foreign club, it was Terence Dzvukamanja, who left to join South African side Bidvest Wits from Ngezi Platinum Stars in 2019.
Ndiraya may now have to look to Issa Sadiki, to fill in for Antonio.
Dynamos host Harare City in a league match at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
