The 52-week challenge: Take the challenge!!

What chases you determines the speed with which you run.

Deep inside me is a passion to see people achieve their dreams. No matter how much I speak, or how good I may appear in speaking, nothing will change in your life if you do not take that STEP to change your life.

Many people struggle financially and our thrust for 2016 must Financial Freedom among other resolutions. I have written a book called, “Keys to Financial Freedom”. The goal of that book is to package basic keys that can help you change your financial fortunes.

Nothing happens on its own

You can pray all that you want, but God will never do for you what you are supposed to do as a man. Your finances are not going to change on their own; you have to take the steps to change them. You have to resolve to take action in the direction that will change your life.

The 52 week money challenge

On Star FM early this year, I called upon people to take up the 52 week money challenge. The results are fantastic, and I am extending the challenge to you as well. If you have heard about the 52 WEEK MONEY CHALLENGE, that’s amazing, if you have not I will take this time to take you through the concept.

52 weeks in a year

There are 52 weeks in a year, pretty common sense, but it is easy for these weeks to disappear without seeing anything meaningful in your life. The same way that 52 weeks in 2015 went by, it’s the same way that 2016 can do if you do not take charge of your life. The goal of the 52 week money challenge is to challenge you to save money on a weekly basis, and by so doing you save considerably at the end of the year.

$1 – version of the 52 week money challenge

There are many variations to the 52 week many challenge, these all depend with what is pushing you. I have attached a picture with the $1.00 and $5.00 version. With the $1 version, you save $1 – week 1, $2 – week 2, $3- week 3, $4 – week 4, and you do this up to week 52.

At the end of the year you would have saved $1 378,00. If you do the $5 version, $5 – week 1, $10 – week 2, $15 – week 3, you do the same up to week 52. At the end of the year you would have saved $6 890,00. Imagine what you can do with this money if you have a goal set for yourself.

Where do I get the money?

Make yourself useful. Stop looking and depending on your salary only. Make use of your gifts, as long as it doesn’t conflict with your job if you are formally employed. There are many projects that you can consider. Get in touch with me for the projects you can consider.

The 52 week money challenge will work best for you if you develop another stream of income, which is essentially why I am challenging you to take up this challenge. Find something to sell that can give you an extra dollar. Everyone is a vendor, the difference is that some are only formalised vendors and others are not.

Develop a saving mechanism (“chigaba”)

I am challenging to dedicate a tin (“chigaba”), which you can use to save. This is a special tin which is sealed, and you can only open it by breaking the tin itself. The labour of breaking the tin will deter you from opening it. I have inserted a picture of what the tin looks like. If you do not have one, contact me for more details.

Put yourself under this discipline, it is painful, but it will save you at the end of the year. There is no goal that is not capable of being achieved.

Enhance your financial discipline through saving

Many people could have bought cars had it not been because of their drinking patterns, many people could have even bought housing stands had it not been because of their financial indiscipline. Some people even tell you stories about how much they made some time ago yet they cannot account were the money went.

Work on your discipline through the culture of saving. It will change your life. Get small tins for your children and help them develop a culture of saving. It is easier to speak about saving when the parent is leading by example.

Set a collective goal for your family

Get the sealed tin, and tell your family about one major goal you all want to achieve, holiday for example or that car that you always talk about. Tell them about the 52 week money challenge, and tell them that you can actually achieve this goal if you both work together. A human being always performs wonders if they are motivated by a goal. I am challenging you to do the same.

You can achieve your goals. Take up the challenge.

Make a date with me every (second to the last) Wednesday of the month on Star FM with Tariro and Iyati from 09:30am – 10:00am for some Moments of Inspiration on Shot in the arm.
