The anointing -Key to your turnaround!

Dunamis with Bishop Dr B Manjoro
I remember about a year ago when we were having a graduation ceremony of over a hundred Bible School students from Faith World Bible College, an interdenominational college with a goal to equip men and women spiritually in order to serve God effectively and grow the Kingdom of God.
Many people came from everywhere, various churches and other people celebrating their loved ones. As president of the college, I was sitting in front with other dignitaries.

The programme was going on well, everyone was joyful, and I was to speak in a moment when something happened. A message came in with an usher, someone had just collapsed, lost consciousness, and no pulse. Some medical practitioners and pastors within church were checking the person and discovered the heart wasn’t beating, no movement whatsoever.

I remained in my place, and they also began to pray. They were outside on the lawn. Nothing happened, no response or sign of life. Messengers began tripping in, one after the other.

I still did not move.

I knew what it meant, I knew what was happening – warfare.

With all the graduates in the auditorium, the guests, visitors and church members; someone dying in church?

It was a terrible story and I would not allow such a story to be told. What was I to do before students we had taught, God is a good God? It did not need notes or another lecture, No. It was a practical lesson; unplanned but it had begun.

One thing was needed. Not talk. An anointing was needed. Only spiritual equipment could address such a critical situation. O hallelujah.

Still sitting in my place and the programme going on, I began to give instructions telling leaders what to do.

The reason I did not go out was to avoid panic; people would quickly see something had gone wrong and it could have disrupted and stopped the graduation, which is exactly what the devil wanted.

But glory to God! I kept giving spiritual instructions, telling people on the ground what to do.

Though it took time, I remained unmoved. It was a test. Then finally, it happened. After close to an hour of a battle and fight of faith, the young girl came back to life and was given porridge to eat, before coming back into the service. The battle was over and won. Glory to God!

It’s just three months to go before the year ends; but friend whatever situation you are going through, it’s not over until it’s over; Business collapsing, marriage and family crumbling, health deteriorating fast, investments and finances shrinking? This is your article.

Don’t give up. You can be spiritually equipped to face the hardest of situations in life. Like Elisha, you can get a double portion of the anointing and power of God, and change your life, family, workplace and generation. Read on and discover how Elisha got spiritual equipment and began to do exploits in his day. You can also do it!

“And it came to pass when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, ‘Ask what I shall do for you, before I be taken away from you’. And Elisha said, ‘I pray you, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me’. And he said, ‘You have asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so unto you; but if not it shall not be so . . .” 2 Kings 2:9-10.

This is a remarkable story from the Bible about Elijah and Elisha. Elijah was about to go. Elisha knew it and needed a double portion of Elijah’s spirit. However, it was not easy or cheap, it was a hard process. Friend to be spiritually equipped is a hard thing and no joke.

A double portion is strived for and not for those who give up in life. Elisha went through, Gilgal (a place of sacrifice), Bethel ( a place of meeting and personally calling on God) and Jericho (a place battle and warfare) before crossing Jordan where he was asked, What can I do for you? And got the double portion.

At Gilgal it is the place where Samuel gave sacrifices to God. Before you are anointed or get a double portion, you have to pass through Gilgal, a place of sacrifice. You have got to sacrifice your time, resources, desires and plenty other things in life, for a double portion.

For example, being a Bishop, I have a mobile number which I do not switch off. It’s for attending to people’s problems and prayer. Anyone from anywhere can call that number and I pray for them. I have come to understand that, serving God is all about sacrifice. Jesus came to serve. “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered to but to minister, and to give His life for ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28).

Sacrifice
However, if you are a married person, despite all your sacrifices for the work of God, you need wisdom to balance and have time with your family and children lest it be said the pastors children are wild. After powerful services at church, I would go home, call all my children, go on all fours and tell them, “Bhiza rauya, bhiza rauya” (the horse has come, the horse has come).

Excited they would all come to sit on my back and I would crawl round the house, having fun. As a result, we became friends and they admired the work of God.

Balance
Then they came to Bethel and still Elisha refused to remain behind. Bethel is the place Jacob personally met God and made a covenant with him. To get a double portion, you need to pass through Bethel; you need to call on a God you know, heard and seen in your life.

At Bethel you call upon God. It’s a personal relationship with God, the Bethel experience. Back then in the 1970s I remember going for a baptism service with one elderly man near Msasa, Jaggers. When we got there, before we began to baptise people, huge drops of rain started to fall and all people ran for shelter.

The elderly man said: “Nooo, don’t run, stop.” I watched him closely. He looked up to heaven and began to talk to God. It was simple: “Jesu, handiti tataurirana mangwanani kuti tiri kunobhabhatidza vanhu? Heya wafunga kubhabhatidza wega neyemudenga? (Jesus, didn’t we agree in the morning that we were going to baptise people today? So you have decided to do it with rain?) Right before my eyes and many others, we saw the rain stopping and clouds dispersing.

As though that wasn’t enough, the old man prayed again: ‘Ah kubva chiomesaka vana vawatotesa” (dry up the people who are wet). And the sun came out drying people, before we proceeded with baptising people. O hallelujah!

That was a Bethel experience. I saw a clear demonstration of the power and Kingdom of God. Church is not just a denomination but demonstration of power. Challenged by the Bethel experience I witnessed that day, I made up my mind to believe God, all my life.

O hallelujah, glory to God! God is able. You need a God that you know, a God who acts and answers prayer. God is power.

Friend, your situation can change. It’s not difficult to God. Three months to go before 2014 ends, but you can still grab your miracle and have a testimony! You can get that job, that healing you want, order in your family and marriage, an open door for your business and project and have your goal met.

It’s not over until it’s over! Allow God to spiritually equip you with His anointing today and connect you to your breakthrough!

Your life will never be the same again. Like Elisha, you can get your heart’s cry, in Jesus’ name. Take the anointing today. For with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27.).
