The blame is on us: Mahari

ZIMBABWE national Under-20 20 rugby coach Bob Mahari has taken blame for his team’s failure to beat Namibia at the Junior World Rugby Trophy Qualifier in Windhoek.

Mahari put the blame on his players who made a lot of errors during the game against Namibia, which denied them an opportunity to progress to the next round of the qualifier.

“I think we were our worst enemies, officials are humans and they get some things right, some of the things wrong and this is part of the sport, we missed a lot of opportunities during the game and failed to control some situations which we could have controlled so it would be unfair for me to put the blame on the officials for our loss,” he said

Despite walloping Madagascar 100-15, the hopes of qualifying for the Junior World Trophy are unclear at the moment as they are now waiting for clarification from Rugby Africa on whether they are going to the tournament.

If Namibia are going to the tournament automatically, the Young Sables might play a team from the North for a chance to go to the competition held at a yet to be named country later on this year.
