Do not get caught out on what previous candidates did wrong. There is no swagger in being a dork.1. Read the rule book — Make sure that as a candidate you are up to date with rules and regulations governing examinations.
2. Be neat — Many candidates continue dividing pages which makes it difficult to allocate marks. Presentation of work was not neat with some work very difficult to follow. Take time to produce neat and orderly work.
3. Be prepared or you will fail. General performance of candidates was poor with the majority in the 0-10 marks group. This shows that candidates were not prepared thoroughly for the examination. Some never attempted questions from Section B.
4. Study not cheat. Cases of cheating on the part of candidates and centres continue to cause concern.
Centres are encouraged to make their invigilators supervise their classes thoroughly to avoid copying and collusion. Zimsec examiners are professionally trained to detect any cases of cheating. Stiffer penalties should be given to all found cheating and banning of centres found.
5. If you do not know the answer, then do not waste the examiners’ time. Irritating and bad comments still appear in the candidates’ scripts some of them insulting the examiners. Do not write these provocative comments.
6. Attend all exams that you are registered for. Some centres do not thoroughly do their marking of registered candidates as some are indicated as present when their scripts are missing or some indicated as absent but scripts are present. The best thing is to just be there.
7. Be on time — When you are late for the exam you destroy your chances of success.
8. Make sure you have everything you need. Take in extra pens, pencils and whatever else you will need for the exam
9. Do not sneak in your phone — There is no time for WhatsApp or Facebook or Twitter or anything else. So do not sneak in your phone.
10. Success is cool. Aim for the highest mark you can get and be a real Cool Lifestyle star.
