MOST students and teachers yesterday said they were geared up for public examinations set for next month.
The third term begins today.
In an interview with H-Metro, some pupils, who were on their way back to school yesterday, said they were happy to return after a fun-filled holiday.
“We are happy to go back to school and meet our colleagues after this amazing holiday. We experienced a lot, managed to attend the Agricultural Show from day one till the last day, and we had a lot of fun.
“As for school business, personally, I am ready because I was attending holiday lessons since we closed schools,” said.
Richard Musa, a Form 4 student at Mazowe Boys High School, and Takudzwa Masunda, from the same school, thanked their parents and teachers for their support.
“Teachers were committed during the holiday, conducting extra lessons, while our parents also managed to meet our school requirements.
“I urge my colleagues to behave and work extra hard this remaining month as we are about to start exams,” said Masunda.
However, others were still in holiday mood.
“I was beginning to enjoy the holiday, especially just after the Agric Show and the gigs that were hosted this weekend.
“I attended the Amapiano show, which was lit, and had lost the zeal to go back to school,” said Raymond, from Mazowe Boys High.
Parents said they had given their all to meet school requirements.
“I have two children at Mazowe High, so, when schools were closed, I started working towards their uniforms.
“I told both of them that I could not afford some luxurious things, during the holiday, so that I could meet their school demands and they understood,” said a parent, who identified herself as Mrs Masunda.
