THE FLYING WARRIOR

IT’S always an athlete’s dream to be ranked among the best in the world.

Zimbabwe has had a fair share of its athletes who have been ranked number one in the world over the years.

Nick Price was once ranked the world’s top golfer. Evan Stewart also topped the world diving rankings at some point in his career.

Andy Flower was once ranked the best wicket-keeper/batter in the world.

Triple jumper Chengetai hasn’t reached that number one ranking yet but there is no question that he is making some huge strides in his quest for glory.

He made a huge statement when he jumped a superb 17.15m at the Ed Murphey Classic in the United States.

That was good enough to earn him second place in the triple jump.

And, that also meant that he now ranked 11th in the world.
