NAMA-nominee, Ntando “The General” Moyo, will end of this month release a one-man comic DVD which would be distributed for free.
The DVD is titled Ain’t Fun.Moyo says the DVD will definitely leave comedy lovers in stitches and relieve people from stress.
“Since we launched the Comedy Club with other comedians in Bulawayo in March, I have had a lot of positive response from my fans and hence I will be distributing this live to them for free.
“People love what I do and this DVD will definitely captivate them in order to keep their passion for comedy burning. Not only that, it will also relieve them from stress because I tackle current affairs and people’s relationships,” said Moyo.
He also revealed that the auditions which they did for the Comedy Club yielded huge results since they managed to groom five other young comedians from the city and they will be showcasing their talent in the DVD.
“People should watch out for the new talent in the DVD. These five talented guys are proving to be getting the hang of things in the comic industry. As an experienced comedian I want to give youngsters a platform to keep the art of comedy in this country moving,” said Moyo.
The General has been performing at the Flame Restaurant in the city doing his open mic sessions for the past two weeks. Last week he was in Harare battling it out with other comedians at Book Café.
Moyo who is also a part of a group which publishes Deck Magazine said they were celebrating the rebranding of their online magazine as part of its first year anniversary. They are also working on printing it next year.
“We have rebranded Deck Magazine. We no longer focusing on music and lifestyle, but now we have included opinion polls, sports and technology. Outside writers would be contributing too alongside our in house writers,” said Moyo.
