The Grain Hub derives inspiration from challenges

DESPITE the Covid-19’s impact on various businesses, local company, The Grain Hub, says the hard times inspired them to come up with ways for people to eat healthy.

The Grain Hub sells small traditional grains like finger millet, pearl millet, sorghum and traditional rice. In an interview with H-Metro, at its Zimbabwe Agricultural Society stand in Harare yesterday, The Grain Hub administrator, Chipo Mahachi, said small traditional grains were high in calcium.

She said finger millet also helps reduce blood sugar levels for diabetic people.

Mahachi said The Grain Hub first opened its doors in 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdown, after noticing that more people were concerned about their health.

She said people had also become particular about what they eat, to boost their immune systems, in the fight against the pandemic.

“Harder times inspired us to work more because traditional foods boost one’s immune system. Our grains are stone-free and we also supply to restaurants and hospitals,” Mahachi said.
