THE Herald Lifestyle fashion show, dubbed “Fashion Extravaganza and Exhibition,” has been postponed to June 22.

The event, which was set for Africa Day, was moved to accommodate more designers and artists who are showing interest in the show.

It will be held at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe.

Fashion Council of Zimbabwe (FCoZ), Style Icon of Zimbabwe (SIZA), Jive Zimbabwe, Edmar Beauty and Spa, Miss Universe Zimbabwe, 4 May International and Esteem Communications, are some of the partners.

Some of the designers, scheduled to participate, include Joyce Chimanye (Zuvaa), Tapfumaneyi Munenga (Coco brand), Ishmael Tsakatsa (Zarguesia), Jasper Mandizera (Ivhu Tribe), Dapper Kings, Hilz Couture, Charmaine Nziradzemhuka, Paz and Chivz and Chenna Neni.

The line-up of performers includes Mbeu, Eleana Makombe, Agga Nyabinde, Taffie and Bernard Betera.

Zimpapers Public Relations and Communications manager, Pauline Matanda, confirmed the latest development.

“We are still on course and happy that everything is now taking shape,” she said.

“The registration is US$50 for designers to take part in the fashion show while for those who want to exhibit will pay US$200.

“They can contact our team for payment at The Herald House and will get their receipt.”

Matanda said those who want to come to enjoy the show can fork out US$20 while the VIP ticket is US$50.

“Stakeholders and companies, who want to take the front row seats for the fashion show, are more than welcome henceforth they fork out $100-$1000.”

Radio personality Becky K and Hollywood Lee will be the hosts of the event while red carpet hosts will be announced this week.

The event will run under the theme, ‘Glitz And Glam-Fashion Style.”

Afro-fusion singer Mbeu said is happy to be part of the initiative.

“This is a good programme and I can’t wait to perform for such a crowd and it is part of our corporate responsibility.

“I will also perform some of my new songs. Fashion and music are intertwined as they go hand-in-hand,” he said.

Prominent designer, Joyce Chimanye, said she will use the opportunity to unveil her latest collection.

“Fashion shows have been rare and I would like to applaud The Herald Lifestyle for coming up with such a concept. I am happy many designers are taking part as this brings variety to the event,” she said.

Chimanye is also the chairperson of the Fashion Council of Zimbabwe (FCoZ).

“We have a strong bond with The Herald Lifestyle and we are happy working with them. We will also be working on providing more designers and stylists for the event and also the fashion awards show on the day in conjunction with SIZA.”
