“Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you — majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? The Lord reigns for ever and ever.” — Exodus 15:11&18
Today, we worship and give thanks to our Almighty God, who reigns supreme over all. Who is like You, Lord?
“Majestic in holiness, fearful in praises, working wonders.”
These words paint a vivid picture of our God, who stands apart from all others. His holiness inspires awe, His praises evoke reverence and His wonders demonstrate His limitless power.
God’s holiness is not just a characteristic; it is His very nature.
He is separate from sin, perfect and just. His holiness demands our reverence and inspires our worship.
When we praise God, we acknowledge His greatness and mighty deeds. Our praises are not just songs; they are testimonies to His faithfulness and love.
He is a wonder-working God; He does the unimaginable.
God’s wonders demonstrate His sovereignty over creation.
From the parting of the Red Sea to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, His power knows no bounds.
What He did on the Red Sea could not be explained.
When the Israelites had concluded in their hearts and minds that “we are now perishing here at the Red Sea,” they faced a seemingly hopeless situation.
Between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s soldiers, they had no option but to think otherwise.
Contrary to their thinking, God showed up and parted the Red Sea.
I can only imagine that many, if not most, saw themselves as doomed. But here comes the Lord, appearing at this critical moment, parting the Red Sea and leading them to safety on dry ground. The Lord reigns forever. His kingdom has no end. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
As we reflect on God’s majesty, let us give thanks for: salvation through Jesus Christ, guidance and provision in our lives, strength in times of weakness and hope in a broken world.
We worship the Lord for His majesty and holiness.
We thank Him for His faithfulness and love.
We revere His name for His greatness and we trust His sovereign plan in our lives. If we are meant to cross over, nothing and no one will hinder His plan.
The Lord will reign forever and ever!
Blessed be the name of the Lord in Jesus’ name, Amen.
