MODEL-TURNED-BUSINESSWOMAN Eustas Gomba says she is passionate about empowering women after witnessing them being discriminated against when she was growing up.
She is an entrepreneur who believes every individual is born with talent and women have the power to have a defining impact on the economy.
“I intend to empower women by sharing my story that we are limitless in what we can do with our hands and minds and that’s why I encourage women to explore their gifts.
“My goal is to hold seminars for women across the country to network and share their knowledge.
“We owe it to the next generation of young women to assert ourselves, to unite and to be bold enough to dare start something because entrepreneurship is a ladder – when you go up you take others with you.”
Eustas said she was determined to increase the number of female employees in her company.
“Our team continues to grow, we have various departments – from our professional florists, caterers and events coordinators, who are women.
“I am grateful to work with strong willed and talented women who understand the Eustas Haven Events vision and they are the reason behind the continuous success of our brand.
“My passion for events’ designing led to the establishment of Eustas Haven Events.”
She said her decision to start an events company was motivated by the closure of many businesses during Covid-19 lockdowns.
“I started my business in 2021.
“I took a leap of faith and left my 9am to 6pm job to follow my passion in events designing.
“I started with small picnics in backyards but I always had a bigger vision to evolve and grow and I am truly blessed by God to live to see it come to fruition.
“I enjoy each and every event as it’s an opportunity to be creative and reproduce beauty through my art.
“It also brings families, friends and people together in one place to celebrate.”
Eustas said her career in modelling inspired her business.
“I learnt a lot, my participation in national beauty pageants helped me build a personal brand and equipped me with confidence and leadership skills which I use today to continuously grow Eustas Haven Events.
“In the course of my modelling career, I managed to carry six national beauty pageant titles and establish the Rwuyorwaishe Children Foundation, which aims to help underprivileged children by providing them with resources they need for education.”
She won Miss Heritage Zimbabwe 2018, Miss Valentines Zimbabwe 2018, Miss Zimbabwe Open University National 2018, Miss Zimbabwe Open University Harare 2018, Miss Legacy Zimbabwe 2017 and Miss Tourism Harare Talent 2019.
