Zim Has Got Talent 2014 winner Divine Chitubura has engaged the services of former Big Brother housemates JJ and Butterphly on his upcoming album to be released next month.

Chitubura and his band Afro Rhythm will be releasing three songs from the upcoming album soon.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, Chitubura said he has always dreamt of becoming an established artiste and is optimistic that these collaborations will take him far.

“I have always wanted to make it big in the music industry locally and internationally and I have been doing my best to get there.

“The collaborations are some of my efforts to break through and I am sure the album will make it as soon as it is released next month,” he said.

He added that both the ex-housemates are talented musically making them a good combination force to work with.

“JJ and Butterphly are very talented when it comes to music. For Butterphly, this is going to be her first track while JJ has been a musician for sometime and has passion for the art,” he said.

JJ featured on the song “Bad as a Soldier”, while Butterphly is on the track “Show me Your Dance”.

The album also features Tricky Jay of the “Tambisa” fame. Chitubura said his quest to come up with different music for different people of different age groups and backgrounds has led him to work with a number of artistes. According to Chitubura’s manager Courage Ndekwende Afro Rhythm music cuts across various genres.

“Our music is a fusion of country, reggae, hip-hop and R’n’B. Pushing the boundaries is something we do on a daily basis because we know nothing is impossible,” Ndekwende said.

“We can safely say we entered the music industry as Afro Rhythm about nine months ago and we started out by entering the Zim Has Got talent as individual acts just to showcase how much talent we have as a group.

“Divine went on to win the first prize and Josh (from the group) was a finalist. Since then it has been performance after performance. The response we have been receiving is overwhelming.”

JJ has expressed his gratitude for being able to work with Chitubura and the Afro Rythm.

“It feels good to work with different artists and I am sure it is also good for the industry. The guys are talented and I feel great having featured on their upcoming album,” he said.

JJ said he is currently working on his DVD album to be released mid year.
