Comedian-cum-musician Freddy Manjalima aka Kapfupi has bounced back with a hilarious comedy titled “Mr Kapfupi”. The latest comedy series follows yet another series titled “Wrong Bag”, which failed to make an impact on the local market.
Kapfupi recently admitted that “Wrong Bag” was poorly done, compared to other productions such as “Sabhuku Vharazipi” and “Bag Rabvaruka”.

“I think there was tight competition from other productions like ‘Sabhuku Vharazipi’ and ‘Bag Rabvaruka’ but I am hoping that my upcoming comedy will do well.

“It is about educating the nation on various social problems that orphans face,” said Kapfupi.

Inspired by his humble background, the comedy is expected to be out next month.

The “Mai Nga” hit-maker said he wanted to encourage orphans that there was hope for a bright future.

An album to accompany the comedy series will be out soon.

“Comedy is my first love and music is just a hobby. I am putting final touches to the comedy before working on a new album,” he said.

He said the comedy will feature the cast that he worked with in all his previous series. The Epworth-based musician said he was confident the new comedy series would do well on the market.

Kapfupi rose to fame during his stint in Street Theatre performed along First Street Mall together with the likes of Marabha, Bhonjisi and Regina.

His previous productions include “Dindingwe Rinonaka Richakweva Rimwe” and “What Goes around Comes Around”.
