The return of Pengaudzoke

ONE of Zimbabwe’s veteran musicians and co-founder of sungura outfit Pengaudzoke, Josphat Somanje, descends on Mutare for the first time in many years for a potentially-explosive gig at the joint situated at the heart of the city centre.

He will perform tonight (Friday) and tomorrow.

 

Somanje, who now fronts his own outfit, Somanje Stars, after the infamous split with the late elder brother, Daiton, says he will belt a blend of new and old songs such as ‘Seiko kuonda’, ‘Mai Linda’ award winning ‘Tsaona’, ‘Mukaranga’ and ‘Hope dzehumambo’.

Cafe Allana

The uptown joint, which is now popular for college students and other youthful night lifers hosts ‘Soulful unleashed’ this and every Sunday at Zimpost building.

 

The event is hosted by Diamond FM deejay, Lampy Zkit.

 

The club also hosts new skool deejays Zintronix and Extreme on Fridays and Saturdays.

Fourth Street Lounge

After successfully hosting comic dancer, David ‘Apama’ Machona last Saturday, the open air joint this weekend has local deejays who will be entertaining families who frequent the place for parties.

 

Jumping castles and clowns are available for children’s entertainment.

Stino’s Bar and Grill

The much-awaited clash between deejays Hollies B and soundmen Kartel Promotions roar to life this weekend, starting tonight.

 

The joint, situated in Manicaland Showgrounds, will have undiluted fun till Sunday while offering exotic beers, sumptuous food and gango.

Micasa

As the English Premier League title race hots up, with Arsenal still ruling the roost, the upmarket joint hosts soccer fans through screening live matches.

 

Deejays Frazer and Terminator will provide entertainment on the turntables while ice cold alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.

 

Steve Chikotie headlines the usual Sunday Jazz nights.

KwaGerry

The watering hole, located in the sprawling ghetto of Chikanga, hosts social soccer outfit, Chipolopolo FC’s after-party.

 

DJ Lion and Kartel Promotions will entertain fun lovers.

DJs Marlo and Budza Real headline the Post-Independence Party to be held tonight.

 

While Marlo will entertain fun lovers with fresh music, Budza Real will take night lifers down memory lane with some old skool classics from across all genres.
