NOW that Moses Chunga is back in the Premiership, at the first attempt, we can expect all the drama that we have missed since he has been away. The man who calls himself “The Greatest” inspired Hippo Valley into the top-flight league just a few months after being given the job to take the team into the Premiership.
And he has done that with so much to spare that he can afford an early holiday.
He needed just a point in his game at home on Saturday but got all three, just showing the professionalism that his side have attached to their mission this season, as Sam Musimbo struck in the 70th minute for a 1-0 win.
Now the talking can begin.
“Everything went according to plan as we had short, medium and long-term plans when we started the season,” said Chunga.
“I think Kenny Ndebele and his team must take into consideration the issue of registering Under-20 players in the Premiership.
“It is so disheartening that we are saying we should have a slot for Under-20 players but all these players are never used while some register players who are above 20 years.
“If we want to develop the Under-20 players then it should not just be about having them registered, but we must find ways to enforce that the right ages are registered and are also fielded in a certain number of games.”
Chunga’s Hippo Valley, like many teams that have fought their way from Division One into the Premiership, is made up of experienced players.
