Star FM FC have found their feet again after a long break without being involved in social football.
The team are affectionately known as The Stars.
Club vice-captain, Hillary Mashanda, said they were back for good.
“The Stars are back and better,” he said.
“We suffered during the pandemic due to lack of game time.
“But, last year we went under rigorous training behind closed doors and we re-introduced ourselves to the football fraternity again at the ZTN Prime Charity Tournament.
“We were able to measure our performance and fitness levels and, yes, we can safely say we are back.”
He added:
“We have also signed new players like Rest Mutore, Blessing Masakadza and Tino ‘Irie’ Chakanyuka from our sister broadcaster, Zimpapers Television Network.
“We are back with a fresh breath and some experienced players.
“Star FM is a national station so it’s part of the station’s initiatives to take radio to the people as some listeners get to interact with their favourite personalities through social soccer.
“It also keeps the staff together.”
They are in Marondera on Saturday for a date against Talons FC.
