An awards ceremony honouring the achievement, ingenuity, and creativity of young adults is set to take place on Thursday
evening at the Old Greatermans Building in Harare.
The ceremony, dubbed ZC7 Awards, was established by the Chiura family and is administered by the INZI Foundation in
honour of one of their own, Zhanta Nkosana Chiura, who succumbed to a heart condition on October 17, 2023, at the age of 19.
Categories featured include Arts and Culture, Sports, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Academics, and Make the World a
better place, which is aimed at emphasising entrepreneurship projects positively impacting the lives of disadvantaged
Zimbabweans.
Born in Zanesville, a city in the United States, Zhanta spent his early years in Ohio and Oregon before his family moved to
Zimbabwe when he was 10.
Zhanta attended the French School, Hellenic and St George’s College.
After his Ordinary Levels, he was admitted to a golf academy in Spain where he had a brief stint before proceeding to Rollins
Club Florida where he stayed for two and a half months before his untimely death.
Zhanta was part of the Zimbabwe Junior Golf Tournament, possessing unmatched integrity and charm.
He was also an artist who played the guitar and saxophone.
