‘There was no room for Him in the Inn’

LUKE 2:7: “And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”
Joseph and Mary, who was heavily pregnant with Jesus, went to Bethlehem according to the decree of Herod.
The place was full of people who had also for the same reason. The rooms were all full. There was no room for Jesus to be born. He had to be born in a stable and laid in a manger. There was no baby crib for him.
They say Jesus was born at Christmas. I do not agree, but I do not want to argue.
If He was born at Christmas, then there was supposed to be room for Him in the inn.
Not much done on Christmas Day has anything to do with honouring His birth. Some who start bad habits, start on Christmas Day. Some take their first drink, or first cigarette on Christmas Day, while some take a woman for the first time on Christmas.
He did not come the way they expected Him to come, hence there was no room for Him in the inn. He did not come with the glamour and tinsel they wanted. There is not much room for Him although we have many churches today. He is still being ousted. That is why in Revelation, He says He is standing at the door and knocking. He is outside, trying to enter.
The Word makes them lose their popularity and stop them from enjoying their pleasures. They think the Word is strict and kills their joy. No wonder many people do not want Him.
They want their church creed and not the Word. Jesus was not wrapped in soft linen. For swaddling cloths, He was presumably wrapped in some rags that were used to cushion the ploughing oxen from being hurt by a yoke on their necks. He was wrapped different. No wonder there was no room for Him in the inn.
Christ is just as rejected today as He was back there. There is no room in our religious circles, today, for a Holy Ghost meeting. It is too much for them to humble themselves to come down to an altar, to cry and to tarry there until they are filled with Power from on High, to rise up from there with newness of Life; and treat their families right. So, they hold on to their creed instead of receiving God’s Gift, Jesus Christ.
His birth in a stable was symbolic. He would be rejected and be a man of sorrow. There is not much room for Him in most homes and hearts. He was rejected and turned away. All the rooms were full. Are your rooms open for Him? Do you have time for Him? Do you have room for Him at your work, home or church?
If Jesus was born at Christmas, will you make room for Him this Christmas, or your table will be full of whisky and gifts for your pleasure. Will you tell your children about Him or you will tell them about Kris Kringle or Santa Claus? Will you teach them only about a myth called Father Christmas, instead of Christ?
In our churches, will we preach Him or we will be having soup suppers, and bunco games, and dress to see who can dress the best, and go into the church with pomp, and enjoy music? Will there be room for prayer? People can’t pray anymore. They have got something else to do; there is no room for him in the inn.
For those that will receive Him, He will be born in the stable of their heart. The Son of God, that was in the cradle, will be in their heart. He is God, the Creator. The Bible says He created the world and came into the world but the world did not know Him. All things. He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.
The Creator wants to live in you and give you all the Powers, if you will receive Him, embrace Him and love Him, and hold Him in your heart! The church together in that kind of a Power, has the Power to bind the heavens, heal the sick, open the eyes of the blind, the dumb speak, and the deaf hear, the cripples walk, the blind see. It is recognizing and receiving the Power of the Almighty God into your heart.
Make room for Him in your inn. He said whoever opens for Him, He will come in and sup with him. He does not come empty handed. He brings the Food for the supping.
