President Kim Il Sung is admired as the great teacher and the eternal sun of the world’s progressives who founded the Juche idea.
President Kim Il Sung devoted all his life to the cause of independence for humankind in the vortex of the intricate 20th century, and he was a prominent leader and benevolent father who illuminated the path of the times with great ideology and, ushered in the period of efflourescence of independence and prosperity in the DPRK with extraordinary leadership and splendid revolutionary practice.

After liberation, Kim Il Sung accomplished the cause of Party founding, enlisted the people’s patriotic enthusiasm to establish the people’s government and the armed forces and carried out democratic reforms so as to lay the foundation for building an independent and sovereign state and, on the basis of this, founded the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in September 1948.
Thanks to the solid foundation and huge potential built up by the president, the country is flexing its muscles as a politically, ideologically and militarily strong nation.
That is why the Korean people revere him as the founder of socialist Korea, and defend socialism by regarding it as their life and blood.
The people’s demands and interests were the criteria of all of his thoughts and activities; sharing joy and sorrow with them was his principle of leadership, and their well-being was his greatest joy.
Thanks to his love of the people, such popular policies as the free medical care were applied and the DPRK was the first to become a tax-free country.
The name of the country and other revolutionary gains and lots of structures of lasting value that bear the word “people” are clear testimony to his love of the people.
As he always was among the people and got familiar with their desires and interests, all of his policies were fully supported by them.
In his reminiscences, With the Century, he wrote:
“Revolutionaries believe in the people and rely on them at all times and you shall always emerge victorious; if you are forsaken by them, you will always fail. Let this be your maxim in your life and struggle.”
He travelled everywhere – factories, farms and out-of-the-way villages – in plain attire despite the bad weather to bring happiness to the people.
To the Koreans, he was the benevolent father.
The world’s progressives respect him as a great man and an elder statesman of the 20th century.
He made a tangible contribution to the development of progressive ideology and the cause of independence for the people by founding the Juche idea.
He had the view that though there are big and small countries, there is no country of high or low rank and though there are developed and underdeveloped nations, there is no ruling or ruled nation.
To build a world free from domination and subordination, he made great efforts to achieve unity among the countries aspiring for independence and peace-loving peoples.
He wrote many works giving solutions to urgent issues, inspiring the world’s revolutionary peoples to further efforts.
Therefore, he won full trust and immense respect of many statesmen of different countries as a great master in the art of leadership.
A lot of people made friends with him as they were charmed by his human touch, noble sense of moral obligation and broad magnanimity.
He treated all the nations impartially, transcending the differences in ideology.
He received foreign personages as his comrades and friends.
President Kim Il Sung gave deep interest in the liberation struggle of the Zimbabwean people against colonialism, and provided material and spiritual support to it, and this continued after independence, assisting the building of a new society.
The friendship and cooperative relation between two countries will continue to develop forever, overcoming all kinds of difficulties and trials.
Kim Il Sung, who had performed great exploits for the cause of global independence, will always live on in the hearts of progressive humankind.
Kim Il Sung’s exploits and lifetime wishes are being defended and fulfilled by leader Kim Jong Il.
With his unique political mode of combining politics with the military affairs, he has remarkably reinforced the national strength as a whole, brought about a great change in the revolution and construction and, safeguarded the supreme interests of the state.
While consolidating the political and military strength of the country under the banner of Juche and Songun (army-first policy), the leader has wisely led the efforts to develop the national economy and bring about a turn in all the fields of socialist construction.
When the world community feared that the DPRK’s existence itself would be a miracle over its economic hardships, he unfolded the plan for the building of a thriving nation.
This is a full manifestation of his courage, grit and outstanding leadership ability.
Kim Jong Il enjoys the absolute prestige for his prominent political competency, traits and achievements he has made for the country and people in the long course of leading the revolution and constru- ction.
He ushered in a heyday of national power in recent years, through the unremitting Songun leadership.
His Songun revolutionary leadership catapulted the DPRK to the status of a militarily powerful country with a strong war deterrent.
He personally led a series of eye-opening events including the successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong 2, the completion of the Juche-based steel-making system and the wider application of the CNC technology.
The DPRK is flexing its muscles as a state of Songun backed up by single-minded unity of all the people around the leader, invincible military power and the reliable self-supporting economy.
