HARARE model, Otilia “Navarro” Moyo, feels honoured after being crowned Miss Heroes Queen.
The model, who has been campaigning against early child marriages, says the crown is a stepping stone in her bid to help eradicate challenges affecting vulnerable groups.
She was representing Harare province and outwitted 11 others, who also participated in the pageant, meant to celebrate the Girl Child.
The event was held in Masvingo.
Said Otilia:
“I became the queen after a tight contest and it feels awesome.
“I feel like a soldier, since it was a Heroes and Defence Forces pageant.
“I was representing Harare and it’s an honour to represent my country.
“I feel it’s an opportunity to work with the State and other people to raise awareness on vulnerable groups, like girls, ending child marriages as well as crime,” she said.
The model, who is also a psychologist, said the experience is worth cherishing.
“The experience was great and I didn’t know that I would make it.
“We were 11 and there were also other models, who are deaf and dumb.
“Each category had four winners,” she added.
To date, Otilia has participated in two pageants, including Miss Charity Ambassador.
Otilia is also an actress and founder of a trust called ‘Migraine and Depression’, which seeks to educate people on mental health.
