THREE of the four men, who were arrested for gang-raping a 14-year-old Form 2 girl, have been acquitted.

However, one of the accused men was convicted of rape.

He was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.

However, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe is considering appealing the acquittal of the three accomplices.

The court heard that the complainant left home on October, 29, last year, in the evening, after being reprimanded by her mother.

She was lured into the home of the first accused under the pretext that he was offering her accommodation for the night.

There were three other men aged 34, 36 and 30 in the house.

The four men threatened her with a knife and beat her with a hose pipe before spiking her drink with an unknown substance.

She became unconscious.

The State had claimed the four men took turns to rape her.

She later narrated her ordeal to her aunt.

The case was reported to the police.
