THREE suspected cellphone thieves, who targeted patrons in Kambuzuma bars and nightclubs, have been nabbed.

Tawanda Pamberi, (21) Tatenda Jinga, (28) and Takura Mukupa, (27) were not asked to plead, when they appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi, facing seven counts of theft.

They were remanded in custody to today for bail hearing.

The court heard that between July, and last month, Pamberi, Jinga and Mukupa hatched a plan to steal from drunk patrons, in different bars, in the high-density suburb.

It is alleged the trio would visit bars in Kambuzuma pretending to be revellers.

The court heard that the trio would steal cash, electrical gadgets and cellphones before disappearing unnoticed.

After stealing from the victims, the three suspects would sell their loot.

Their luck ran out when they were apprehended by the police on Sunday.

They allegedly stole an iPhone 13 Promax, Hisense cellphone, Huawei Y9, Itel p15, Itel p36 and Tecno Pop 6 all valued at US$2 000.

Nothing was recovered.
