Three die in accident

THREE people died while six others were injured when a vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road and overturned.

In a statement, national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said the three passengers were thrown out of the vehicle and died on the spot along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road.

“The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident in which three people died while six others were injured at the 59 km peg along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road,” he said.

“A Toyota Hilux double cab vehicle with eight passengers on board veered off the road and overturned before landing on its wheels.

“As a result, three passengers were thrown out of the vehicle and died on the spot.

The injured were admitted to Mpilo Central Hospital, while the bodies await a post-mortem.
