THE Thuthuka ‘Rise and Shine Munhukadzi’ Expo is set to be hosted in Bulawayo from June 28-30.
Hosted by Sarah Dee Creations and Divas in Action, the three-day event is a platform for women in fashion designing, handcraft and the make-up industry to share ideas.
Renowned make-up artist, Progress Manduna, is set to host the expo.
In an interview, Sarah Dhliwayo said:
“This is a women empowerment programme where we will come together to empower, inspire and motivate each other, creating a platform to share business ideas in the arts.
“There will be a combination of conferences, exhibitions and musical concerts from various women in the industry.
“We saw it fit to come up with this initiative as many think that the crafts industry is more of a hobby for women but, through the various stories and lessons that will be shared at the expo, we hope some women will be uplifted and invest into their talent to improve their livelihoods.”
